The CSP oil cooler bypass with thermostat stands out by its fail-safe design. The time required to reach the oil operating temperature is optimized with the help of an internal thermostat. The oil flow through the cooler is regulated by the thermostat. When cold, the internal bypass is open. The oil seeks the path of least resistance and in this case flows back into the engine uncooled. From a temperature of 75 degrees Celsius (167 degrees Fahrenheit), the bypass begins to close. From 82 degrees Celsius (180 degrees Fahrenheit), the bypass is closed, allowing the oil to flow completely through the oil cooler.

The housing is precisely manufactured from a billet block of aluminum on our CNC milling machines in Bargteheide. The black anodization of the housing protects against environmental influences and the laser-engraved flow directions and connection sizes lightens correct installation.

Our oil cooler connections have four connection threads that can be used as required. The only important thing is that one inlet and one outlet is used. In addition to the four connections for the oil hoses, there are two further connections that are sealed with stainless steel plugs and copper rings.The M14x1.5 thread can be used for an oil temperature sensor if required, while the smaller M10x1 connection can be used for a thermal switch, to control the fan of a Cagero oil cooler for example.
